Viognier - Amador County
Our Viognier comes from the heart of Amador County wine country where the well-draining decomposed granite soils of the Sierra Foothills, combined with the 1,500+ feet elevation, create an environment where our Viognier grapes can develop significant aromatics and well defined structure.

Marsanne/Roussanne Vineyard -Contra Costa County

The San Joaquin River Delta region outside of Oakley provides an outstanding, albeit surprising area for these Rhone varietals. The sandy soils and warm days and cool night influenced by the Delta pulling in cool air from the San Francisco Bay allow these grapes to develop the citrusy and waxy aromas, while the well-draining soils provide significant structure, which will allow these wines to age beautifully for many years to come.

Dry Creek Valley - Syrah Vineyard

Our Syrah comes from the eastern bench of the Dry Creek Valley where the well-draining volcanic soils and significant diurnal shift bring haunting aromatics, flavors, and beautiful structure to the Durrell clone Syrah grown (and immaculately farmed) on this 5 acre block from this "benchland" site.

Los Carneros - Sonoma - Merlot Vineyard

The Copland Vineyard sits on a significant south-westernly slope where the clay soils and maritime influence of the San Pablo Bay combine to create growing conditions similar to the right bank of Bordeaux. Consequently, the Merlot from this vineyard tends to have lower alcohol, more structure, and a little more restraint on the fruit than one typically expects from California Merlot.

‚ÄčRussian River Valley - Pinot Noir Vineyard

It's impossible to talk about the Russian River Valley AVA without talking about the fog. Our Pinot Noir vineyard rests on the sandy loam soils of the eastern bench of the former southern fork of the Russia River, where the evening fog gets pulled in from the Pacific Ocean and cools the grapes throughout the night. These elements are perfect for the delicate Pinot Noir Clone 115 that is planted here, setting the table for a light, floral, and elegant expression of Pinot Noir.

Russian River Valley - Cabernet Franc Vineyard

Our Cabernet Franc comes from a vineyard on the eastern bench of the Russian River Valley, where the well-draining alluvial soils, warm days and cool nights give the grapes a long ripening, allowing for balanced ripening of the fruit.  The wine comes from a field-blended vineyard planted 95% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot, Petite Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Tannat.

All of our vineyards are family-owned and operated, organically farmed (non-certified), hand harvested, and treated with the utmost respect. We believe these growing practices, along with a light-handed approach in the cellar, produce the most vibrant, balanced, and interesting wines, reflective of the time and place in which each was made.
